CONNECT2MEDIA ANNOUNCE IPHONE LINE UP

26th June 2009

Connect2Media, has announced their iPhone release schedule for the summer with a line-up that includes titles like classic casual title ‘Tumblebugs’ and brand new IP ‘Timeloop’.

Connect2Media has already released ‘Go! Go! Rescue Squad!’ on the App Store and the next game will be ‘Timeloop’, another brand new IP created in-house at the company’s Manchester development studio. Timeloop is an arcade puzzle game which sees the player using short jumps in time (Timeloops) to travel back in time to help their previous self solve puzzles – really, it makes sense in-game!

Next up comes classic casual game ‘Tumblebugs’. With well over 35 million downloads or free-plays to date of the web version the game is a true ‘mass market’ product. The game has topped download charts on all of the major games sites including Yahoo!, Big Fish Games, Shockwave, AOL and Oberon and spent four months in Real Arcade’s top ten. The iPhone version has been created by Tag Games who have scored a massive App Store hit with their excellent ‘Car Jack Streets’.

‘String ‘Em In’ hits the App Store next. The interactive TV smash hit is already played by millions around the world. The intuitive word game is available to over 11 million homes in the UK alone, enjoying exceptional replay rates and becoming the most played game on Virgin Media UK cable network. The game has recently launched on Facebook where it has enjoyed immense international success.

Then the first of brand new, cross-platform, franchise ‘365 Sudoku’ arrives on the App Store. The 365 brand is aimed squarely at casual gamers and is the first in a line of trustworthy products that will deliver timelessly playable games in a slick, iPhone environment with presentation and features that make full use of the iPhone’s features.

“Like the iPhone, the App Store is a unique channel that demands new ways to market product,” said Eric Hobson, CEO of Connect2Media. “By not rushing into the market immediately we have been able to come in with a dedicated roadmap and marketing campaigns that will address all manner of iPhone and iPod touch consumer.”

One exclusive Gold plated Car Jack Streets iPod Touch will be produced in conjunction with Goldstriker International (www.goldstriker.co.uk). Tag expects the competition to appeal to anyone with a love of bling! Competition entry is simple, gamers must collect all of the 50 hidden packages strewn across Jack City and register to the online ranking boards. The competition closes on 3rd July 2009 when Tag will draw one winner at random.

While the innovative crime simulator received an average review score of 8.2 from over 22 leading game review sites, the update has been created entirely around the suggestions of both player and critic feedback. Delivering the best in dedicated fan service, Tag Games has listened closely to the fans and has modified the game based on their suggestions.

Creative director at Tag Games Jamie Bryan said: “Because we are an independent developer, we really appreciate every single sale of our games and really do take onboard the feedback we receive in the hope of producing bigger and better titles that cater to the fans. This really is a massive update that revamps many aspects of the game that critics felt could have been improved on. I think players of the initial launch will be pleasantly surprised by what we have done in this update, while newcomers will experience a slick title, offering hours of mayhem and fun.”

The first expansive update will add a wide range of new features and fixes to Car Jack Streets including:

*Fully interactive ‘Jack City’ map available from your GPS

*All major reported bugs will be remedied once players install the update

*New ‘steering wheel’ control method for casual players and increased button responsiveness

*Randal now has increased lives. Players now have five chances to pay mob boss Frankie, making the game less harsh if you miss a payment

*Randal can now carry up to five weapons at a time and cycle through them at will

*Players now have the option of returning to their condo safe house to save weapons and vehicle before exiting the game

*Two new vehicles. The destructive Sports Utility Tank and the Sky Copter

*Players can now play their own iPod music in the game

The second update pack for Car Jack Streets iPhone is already in development at Tag Games, with a targeted release date for early June. It will further bolster the game with multiple languages and further improvements. Also, a free survival mode mini-game is also in development entitled Car Jack Streets: Survival. Inspired by classic games such as Smash TV and Geometry Wars, Tag hope it will both appeal to those yet to purchase the game as well as existing CJS fans.

Please contact Ink Media at dave@ink-media.co.uk you would like to interview the team at Tag Games.

Car Jack Streets is currently available now on the iPhone App Store priced £1.79 / $2.99 / Euro 2.39.
